12 April 2017
A medical team at the General Surgery Section of King Khalid Hospital in Najran has successfully managed to remove a 400-gram tumor to end the suffering of a Saudi lady in her fourth decade, who had been suffering for more than 10 years. The patient had dysphagia (i.e. difficulty swallowing) and a change of voice and feeling of suffocation at bedtime; due to the displacement of the tumor into the trachea, extending into the thoracic cavity. After all medical procedures had been performed, the surgery was successfully conducted and the tumor was removed. Thanks to Allah, the patient has been discharged from the hospital after two days in stable health condition.

It is worth mentioning that King Khalid Hospital has conducted a number of benign (not cancerous) and malignant (cancerous) tumor surgeries, which have exceeded 25 cases, since the beginning of 2017.
