Thanks to Allah, a surgical team, led by Dr. Rabie Al-Sebeila the ENT Surgical Consultant at King Abdulaziz Specialist Hospital in Sakaka, managed to save a 4-year-old boy, who swallowed a foreign body settled in his airway. The required medical examinations had been conducted to the boy, which showed the presence of a 2-cm sharpener blade that is believed to have existed for more than 3 weeks.
The patient had been admitted to Prince Mutaib bin Abdulaziz Specialist Hospital in Sakaka, and examined. Then, has been referred to King Abdulaziz Specialist Hospital in Sakaka, where he has undergone a surgery for removing such foreign body. The surgery has been crowned with success, despite its difficulty, because this body has a long period inside the patient, causing inflammation. The child has been charged from the hospital in good condition, May Allah be praised.
