King Abdulaziz Specialist Hospital in Al-Jouf Achieves 50% Increase in Surgical Operations

King Abdulaziz Specialist Hospital in AL-Jouf continues with developing its services, opening new sections and clinics and involving in performing quality surgical operations for the first time ever in the region.
 
During the last month the hospital has managed to achieve a 50% increase in surgical operations by performing 84 operations in a month. 
 
The hospital is witnessing a steady rise in productivity in the abdominal and cardiac departments and different specialties of general and delicate surgery, and in this regard the department of gastrointestinal endoscopy has been activated in the hospital's internal medicine departments to perform various cases of therapeutic and diagnostic gastrointestinal endoscopy in order to provide reference services to all patients in Al-Jouf region. The hospital's gastrointestinal endoscopy department has performed the endoscopy procedure for the bile ducts and pancreas of a 20-year-old Saudi patient for diagnostic and exploratory purposes.
 
Currently, preparations are underway to receive more patients with bile duct obstruction caused by gallstones or other reasons. A new case was recorded in the bile duct endoscope, with a supporting stent. For the first time in the region, such endoscope procedure was performed for a 70-year-old Saudi female patient with bile duct obstruction and who previously had a gallbladder removal. Also, the work is under way to provide new quality services pending completion of the nuclear medicine department and oncology Unit.
