His Excellency the Minister of Health Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah signed today, Tuesday, at his MOH headquarters office, a community partnership agreement with Al-Wedad Charity Foundation to provide healthcare for children without parental care at the Foundation's shelter centers around the Kingdom.
According to the agreement primary healthcare services will be provided to beneficiaries of the foundation through the primary healthcare centers in each of: Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, Khobar, Abha and Jazan, for a one renewable year.
The agreement comes out of the Ministry of Health's (MOH) interest to boost the contribution of the charity sector in the health development and enable the charity organizations to provide developmental services as per the actual needs of citizens at the highest quality. The agreement will make use of capabilities of each party, so as to achieve comprehensive care for the beneficiaries of services provided by the foundation in accordance with the articles provided for in the agreement. The agreement calls for facilitating access of children without parental care, under the age of 2 years, who are registered with the foundation's branches, to having the necessary primary health care, through a package of health services provided by the ministry's hospitals and primary healthcare centers, particularly in regard to opening of medical files for each child registered at the centers adjacent to the branches. In addition to providing vaccination services to the children registered with the foundation in different regions of the Kingdom, as well as assigning a visiting doctor for each branch of the foundation, who will conduct periodic visits and train the foundation's employees in the field of primary healthcare and providing all necessary tests (laboratory and psychological) to ensure the heath of the fostering family.
