MOH: Successful Complicated Surgery on Youngman with Neck Fracture

According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), a medical team from Neurosurgery Department at Hafr Al-Batin Central Hospital, has conducted a complicated surgery on a man in his second decade with a fracture in the vertebrae of the neck and pressure against spinal cord, he sustained in a traffic accident. 
 
The patient has undergone a number of laboratory and radiology tests including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), CT scan, as well as a number of electroencephalography (EEG) tests.
 
During the 3-hour emergency surgery the cervical vertebrae have been fixed with plates and nails, and removal of the broken vertebra and pressure against the cervical spinal cord and implanting a bone from the patient's pelvis, replacing the broken vertebrae. Thanks to Allah, the surgery was successful.
 
It is noteworthy that the patient will attend physiotherapy and rehabilitation sessions until he is able to resume his normal life, Allah willing.
