The Ministry of Health (MOH) has succeeded in delivering its awareness message about the health effects of smoking; as a large number of smokers, who had visiting the Anti-Smoking Clinics at Makkah Health Affairs General Directorate over the past year (1437H), have quitted smoking, thus bringing the total number to more than 3.500 quitters through five clinics disseminated throughout the hospitals in Makkah.
It is worth mentioning that numerous awareness seminars, lectures, and exhibitions have been held at the different health sectors, and the number of beneficiaries of these activities amounted to more than 31.000 people. Besides, these activities come in coinciding with the launch of the campaign: «We Start 2», which is meant to raise awareness against health dangers of smoking.
