MOH: ‘More than Two Million People Got Seasonal Flu Vaccine’
19 December 2016
The Ministry of Health (MOH) stated that it has provided seasonal flu vaccine to more than two million people of high risk groups over the current year (2016). Thanks to Allah, it has managed to stop more than 90% of outbreaks of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) in health facilities, in addition to the treatment of 2,000 patients with chronic hepatitis C with high efficiency drugs at a cure rate amounted to 94%.

Furthermore, the MOH underlined that the Quality Assurance Program (QAP) has been applied on a number of 425 devices (at a rate of 62% of the total number of radiation devices in health facilities), as well as increasing the number of hospitals, participating in the International Program for Monitoring Infection, to 28 hospitals, as it was five hospitals in 2015.

It is worth mentioning that these steps come as part of the MOH’s initiatives, in line with Saudi Arabia’s vision 2030 and the National Transformation Program (NTP), and within the framework of the MOH’s efforts to maintain the health and safety of all community members, and to protect them against infection, Allah Willing.
