MOH to Organize the Saudi Health Simulation Conference 2016
26 October 2016
The Ministry of Health (MOH) will organize the Saudi Health Simulation Conference 2016 over the period from November 22nd to 24th, 2016 (corresponding to Safar 22nd to 24th, 1438H). The conference aims at building the national competences in the health simulation domain, linking them with the relevant entities in this respect, adopting the simulation-based vocational education, approving the mechanism of training and granting or renewing license for individuals and centers in the health simulation domain.

The MOH pointed out that the intensive scientific program includes a number of diverse workshops that are specialized in the simulation-based training for all health practitioners. The conference will be accompanied by some activities, including simulation contest, in which the trained teams, who are highly qualified in the use of health simulation, will participate in the training. These teams will come from various health care entities to present their experiences in the training of some scientific scenarios on dealing with critical and emergency cases, in an environment very similar to reality. The teams will be assessed by a specialized arbitration committee, with the help of the public participating in the contest to vote for the nomination of the winning team.

“On the sidelines of the conference, an awareness course will be held targeting all segments of the public to train them on how to save a life. The course will be attended by 400 participants from the staff of the Civil Defense in the Kingdom; with a view to increasing the knowledge of the way to save the lives of people in emergency and disaster cases, whom they may face in their working field, May Allah forbid,” added the Ministry.

It is worth mentioning that the conference is accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS), the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), and the Society in Europe for Simulation Applied to Medicine (SESAM).
