MOH Organizes Awareness Campaign on Hands-Only CPR
26 May 2016
The Ministry of Health (MOH), represented by the Technical Skills and Simulation Center affiliated to the Training and Scholarships General Department, has organized an awareness campaign on hands-only cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) at the MOH headquarters. The event coincided with the American Heart Association's (AHA) announcement that May is the heart saver month in the Middle East and North Africa. The campaign aims to raise awareness among the maintenance and cleaning workers of various nationalities and the security and safety personnel, and train them practically on the simple and effective ways of saving lives.

Within the same vein, the Deputy Minister for Human Resources Development, Mr. Abdul-Hadi Al-Mansouri, highlighted that the campaign reflects the MOH's keenness and commitment to preserve lives, the matter which pivots on striving to reduce the mortality rates and the burden of injuries resulting from accidents and heart attacks, which often occur outside health facilities.

For his part, the Director-General of Training and Scholarships, Dr. Mansour Al-Yami, pointed out that the non-healthcare workers have participated in the campaign at the MOH headquarters, which will be followed by subsequent workshops inside and outside the Ministry; due to the importance of this matter in saving the lives of injured people, Allah willing, until arrival of medical assistance.
