09 March 2016
Page Content
The Spokesman of Makkah Health Affairs General Directorate, Abdul-Wahhab Sadaqa Shalabi, has announced that a smoking coming out from a fire has been reported at 7:45 a.m., Wednesday, 9/3/2016 (corresponding to 29/5/1437H). “The fire broke out in the area of the meeting room on the first floor inside the Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy Center at Al-Noor Specialist Hospital. There were no people inside that room, as the building of the Center is independent and separate from the main building of the hospital, where the inpatient sections are,” he said.
Shalabi went on saying: “A state of emergency has immediately been declared as a precautionary measure at the hospital, and the hospital’s security and safety teams rushed to the building. Then, the measures of Emergency and Crisis Management Department at Makkah Health Affairs Directorate have been declared effective, and the Civil Defense has been notified, which has responded to the incident immediately. After that, the fire has been controlled without causing any injuries, May Allah be praised. Only the content of the room has been damaged, however the hospital is still providing its medical services.”
Makkah Health Affairs General Directorate would like to extend sincere thanks and gratitude to Makkah Civil Defense officers; for their quick response and great efforts in facing the incident.
