MOH Investigates the Death of Some Premature Babies at KFH in Al-Baha

Immediately upon receiving the news that some premature babies passed away at King Fahad Hospital (KFH) in Al-Baha, the Ministry of Health (MOH) ordered Al-Baha Health Affairs Directorate to promptly commence the investigation procedures at this Hospital, in order to report details of the incident and to make sure that there are nothing that may affect the health of other premature babies there.        
 
At the same time, the MOH has formed a team, comprising a number of specialists from the Ministry, as well as physicians from other medical institutions, to investigate the circumstances of these deaths, as soon as possible, and to make sure of the safety of medical procedures adopted in that hospital. Also the team is assigned to study the level of the medical care provided to premature babies and submit a report on any failure that may have occurred with regard to the medical procedures followed by those working at the aforementioned hospital, as well as issuing recommendations that may be required, as a result of the investigation, either concerning increasing the number of workers, honing their skills or the need for additional technical or medical equipment.
 
Within the same vein, the MOH highlighted the continuation of adopting its transparency approach of clarifying all facts about its works, meanwhile it will not hesitate to take all necessary actions to ensure the availability of medical services for patients with the best levels of safety, whether in MOH facilities or non-MOH facilities. Besides, these procedures come as part of the MOH’s keen interest in the citizens’ health and safety.
