MOH Issues Explanatory Statement on Newspaper Allegations of "MOH Spokesman Provokes Journalists with Popular Proverb, Deputy Minister Does Them Justice"
28 October 2015
With regard to what was published in a local newspaper, last Monday under the title "MOH Spokesman Provokes Journalists with Popular Proverb, Deputy Minister Does Them Justice", Mr. Faisal Al-Zahrani, the official spokesman of Ministry of Health (MOH), explained that the meeting in question was internal; the media were not invited, and no reporters were allowed. The Ministry deemed a press release to be enough.
He added that this meeting was restricted to those who were invited such as, MOH leaders and heads of Hajj preparatory committees for the purpose of reviewing the ministry's performance during the last pilgrimage season. It's worth mentioning that the writer of the article was notified of the fact, yet insisted to remain in the building with a companion in unjustifiable manner. Also, the reporter did not produce any identification of affliation to the newspaper he works for.
Al-Zahrani reiterated that MOH is keen to strengthen communication with all types of media, and adopt the principle of transparency with everyone in order to keep them informed with the efforts exerted in developing health services and providing healthcare for citizens.
