His Excellency the Minister of Health, Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih is participating in the second meeting of the GCC Health Ministers Committee tomorrow, Wednesday, October 21st, 2015 (corresponding to Al-Muharram 8th, 1437H), in Qatar.
The meeting will discuss the proposal of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) to set up a gulf committee for cosmetics safety. The meeting will also discuss a report on the resolutions of the Supreme Council and the Ministerial Council regarding health domain, as well as providing equal opportunity for all GCC citizens to benefit from health services. The health ministers are to touch upon the coordination of the GCC states' efforts in dealing with emergency situations and crises related to pharmaceuticals, vaccines, serums and medical supplies.
Furthermore, the agenda of the meeting includes a number of topics, including the development of health financing systems to achieve universal health coverage throughout the GCC states; lowering the use of saturated and trans fats in the GCC states; the topics of polio, measles, the excessive use of pesticides, and the International Health Regulations (IHR).
