MOH: 300.000 Meals for Seconded Employees at the Holy Sites, Special Meals for Sunstroke Patients

The Nutrition Committee at the Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced its readiness, through nutrition sections at the Holy Sites’ hospitals, for this Year's Hajj Season. The committee has prepared 11 sites for providing diverse meals for the seconded employees, in line with the healthy standards and requirements, under the supervision of specialists in the field of food, nutrition and food safety (totaling 75 nutrition specialists and technicians). These specialists and technicians oversee the workflow and the application of contract conditions and nutrition specifications, by the nutrition contractors responsible for ensuring, preparing and cooking meals, in addition to processing and delivering meals by 550 workers after applying health requirements and conducting medical examinations before starting work.
 
The Committee highlighted that the nutrition employees keep on daily monitoring and supervising work cleanliness, quality and performance, in addition to the equipment safety and the provision of fresh, processed and frozen foods from safe sources.
 
The Committee is expected to provide more than 300.000 meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner), during this year’s Hajj season. Besides, the Committee has nominated 10 therapeutic nutrition specialists, in order to oversee the special meals and follow up the nutrition of inpatients and ICU patients, as well as providing appropriate tube feeding for inpatients as needed, and special meals to pilgrims suffering sunstroke during this year’s Hajj season.
 
It is worth mentioning that the Committee has embarked on providing meals for the seconded employees at the Holy Sites’ dining halls since Monday morning, Dhul-Qi‘dah 11th, 1436H.
