Al-Khateeb Orders to Form Work Teams to Visit Main Hospitals

Within the framework of activating the institutional work approach, pursued by the Ministry of Health (MOH), and to promote the direct communication between officials and visitors of health facilities, thereby meeting their health needs, and assessing the performance of such facilities, His Excellency the Minister of Health, Mr. Ahmad bin Aqeel Al-Khateeb, has given his orders to form independent work teams, affiliated directly to his office. These work teams are directed to visit the main hospitals throughout the Kingdom’s different regions and governorates, and to submit their reports, showing to what extent these hospitals comply with health laws and quality criteria, and identify their needs, as well as knowing views of the beneficiaries of these hospitals’ services; in an endeavor to ensure the best health services offered for visitors and inpatients.
 
It is worth mentioning that these work teams comprise a number of specialists in the various domains of medicine, infection control and quality criteria. Besides, the engineering team includes specialists in the projects and engineering fields, to assess the constructions and infrastructure of health facilities. That is to be added to an administrative team, including specialists in human resource development, to evaluate challenges and identify requirements.
 
In order for the target of such visits to attained, the names of all members of the independent teams shall remain undeclared. They will be selected from various locations and departments disseminated throughout the Kingdom’s different regions, so as to ensure the output quality and impartiality of these teams.
 
The competent team will meet with the health professionals and workers in clinics and different technical and medical specialties and departments; in an endeavor to have a closer look at the actual situation, and to identify the shortcomings to be avoided and the positive aspects to be promoted, as well as identifying the requirements and resources needed for determining the employee in charge of work. Furthermore, the independent teams will meet with patients and visitors of the various sections in the hospital, to be acquainted with their views on the medical services provided for them, and to receive their suggestions and complaints.
