Dr. Al-Jahdali Named Assistant Deputy Minister for Human Capital Planning and Development
16 November 2014
His Excellency the Acting Minister of Health, Eng. Adel bin Muhammad Faqih, has issued today a ministerial resolution mandating Dr. Emad bin Ali Al-Jahdali to undertake the tasks and responsibilities as the Assistant Deputy Minister for Human Capital Planning and Development for one year, starting from the date of the resolution adoption. This step came after the Assistant ‘Agency for Planning and Training’ had been renamed to the ‘Assistant Agency Minister for Human Capital Planning and Development’. Thus, Dr. Al-Jahdali superseded Dr. Muhammad bin Fouad Zamakhshari, whose mandate as the Assistant Deputy for Planning and Training came to an end, and was designated as a Consultant in Pediatric Surgery at King Saud Medical City (KSMC). It didn’t escape Eng. Faqih’s notice to thank Dr. Zamakhshari, and laud his strenuous efforts during his work tenure.

Within the same vein, the resolution has stipulated moving a number of general departments from the Transformation Management Office (TMO), to be administratively and technically pertinent to the Assistant Agency for Human Capital Planning and Development; these departments are: Personnel Affairs General Department, Training and Scholarships General Department, Recruitment General Department, Manpower Planning General Department, Administrative Development General Department, and Self-Employment General Department, meanwhile keeping the TMO directly pertinent to the Minister of Health.

This resolution comes within the framework of the MOH’s trends to develop its administrative output, and rotate the senior positions, with a view to pushing the development wheel and upgrading the technical and administrative work.

It is worth mentioning that Dr. Al-Jahdali used to work as the CEO of King Fahad Hospital (KFH) in Jeddah, and formerly as an Assistant Professor of Occupational and Environmental Medicine in Umm Al-Qura University. That is to be added to his still-earlier experience as head of the Preventive Medicine Department at Aramco for twenty five years. Furthermore, Dr. Al-Jahdali is a holder of a postgraduate degree in Occupational Medicine from Edmonton in Canada in 1996, in addition to MBBS from King Abdulaziz University (KAU) in Jeddah.
