The Assistant Deputy Minister for Preventive Health, Dr. Abdullah Al-Asiri, has underlined that the vulnerability-to-infection allowance is still being paid for several categories and specialties of health professionals. “This allowance is SR 750, to be added to the main salary, according to polices and classifications determined and issued by the relevant authorities,” said Dr. Al-Asiri.

He went on adding that a study on the vulnerability-to-infection allowance has recently been reviewed by specialized technical committees, making use of the experiences and protocols of the developed countries, with regard to paying the vulnerability-to-infection allowance. The study included a recommendation that such allowance should be paid for more worthy categories and specialties, after meeting the due conditions. Besides, he has pointed out that the proposed regulation has been submitted to the competent authorities and committees at the Council of Civil Service, waiting for what will be released from them to act accordingly.
