Dr. Al-Khoshaim to Lead the Saudi Delegation to the Arab Health Ministers’ Council Meeting in Cairo

His Excellency the Vice Minister of Health for Planning and Development, Dr. Muhammad bin Hamza Khoshaim, will lead the Saudi delegation participating in the 41st Regular Session of the Arab Health Ministers’ Council, to be held on Wednesday, 12th March, 2014 (corresponding to 11th Jumada Al-Oula, 1435H) in Cairo. The meeting will last for two days.
 
Their Excellencies the Ministers of Health, are to discuss at this meeting a number of topics on the agenda, most notably the health and humanitarian conditions of the Syrian emigrants in the neighboring countries and the health and humanitarian conditions of the people in Palestine, as well as the Arab strategy for combating AIDS.
Moreover, the meeting is to discuss some other topics related to the maternity health, poliomyelitis, the Arab integration in medicines, health regulations, medical violations, expired medicines, non-communicable diseases and the health and humanitarian conditions in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
 
Within the same vein, the meeting will further discuss all issues related to Arabizing the language of health sciences, the Arab Board for Health Specializations (ABHS), the Arab Authority for Blood Transfusion Services (AABTS), the unified address of the Arab health Ministers’ Council. The meeting will further touch upon preparation for the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit, which is to be held in Tunisia in 2015, in addition to the first meeting of Health Ministers in the Arab countries and Southern American Countries. Besides, the meeting will review the activities of the Technical Secretariat in the Arab Health Ministers’ Council over the period between the 39th regular session in March, 2013 and the 41st session in March 2014, aside from a number of other topics on the agenda.
 
It is worth mentioning that the delegation compromises the MOH Deputy Minister for public Health, Dr. Ziad Memish, the MOH Assistant Deputy Minister for Supportive Medical Services, Dr. Muneera Al-Esseimi and the Director-General of Hereditary and Chronic Diseases Control, Dr. Muhammad Sa'eedi.
