WHO Renews its Accreditation of the Saudi National Polio Laboratory

The World Health Organization (WHO) has renewed its accreditation of the Saudi National Polio Laboratory for 2013, after obtaining 100% in the Annual Assessment of Excellence in 2013; due to the lab’s fulfillment of the required standards.
 
Speaking for the WHO, the WHO representative, Dr. Mustafa Tayyan, in his congratulatory letter, lauded this accreditation, saying: “I am pleased to refer to the WHO accreditation of the Saudi National Polio Laboratory for the year 2013, commending the great efforts exerted by Laboratory’s staff, and their contribution to the laboratory's maintaining such high level quality in performance.” It didn’t escape Tayyan’s notice to extend his immense congratulation to all the officials at the Ministry of Health (MOH) in general, and the employees at the Saudi National Polio Laboratory in particular, on such distinguished efforts.
 
It is worth mentioning that this extension of accreditation for the Saudi National  Polio Laboratory in the WHO Central Laboratory and Blood Bank, to become the referential laboratory for polio examination in the Middle East, as well as obtaining full marks in quality, testify the advancement of performance level in the Saudi laboratories and blood banks. Besides, this achievement underscores the great interest and efforts for gaining the most prestigious international recognition certificates, meanwhile providing the best and most distinguished laboratory services for citizens.
