12 October 2013
The Ministry of Health (MOH) has started on Saturday 7/12/1434H (corresponding to 12/10/2013) the implementation of its operational plan for hospitals and health centers in Mina, i.e. Mina Emergency Hospital, Mina Al-Jisr Hospital, Mina Al-Wadi Hospital, and Mina Al-Share' Al-Jadeed Hospital, given that all these hospitals were operated, and all their outpatients, emergency units, and various hospitalization sections have become ready to receive patient pilgrims and visitors.

The four hospitals have become ready, whether in terms of the trained personnel and equipment, to run at their full capacity to serve the pilgrims on the Tarwiah (Watering) Day, as well as the days of Eid Al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) and the Tashriq Days.

It is worth mentioning that the MOH has focused through its operational plan for this year on the expansion in providing the curative services, as well as the provision of medical devices and manpower needed to deal with the most cases; that is to be added to the expansion in the Cardiac Catheterization Program, and heart surgeries conducted at the hospitals of the areas of pilgrimage.

Besides, the Ministry has focused on developing and improving the services provided in intensive care units at the Hajj hospitals using the modern techniques; that is to be added to introduction of digestive tract endoscope and dialysis devices to all hospitals of the Holy Sites for treatment of cases without transferring them.

Mina hospitals comprise 550 beds, including 103 beds for intensive care units, and 108 beds for emergency sections, given that Mina Emergency Hospital holds 190 beds for all medical specialties, including 34 beds for intensive care units.

On the other hand, Mina Al-Jisr Hospital comprises 150 beds, including 28 beds for intensive care units.

In addition, Mina Al-Wadi Hospital provides its therapeutic services in all medical specialties, and it comprises 160 beds, including 25 beds for intensive care units. Mina Al-Share' Al-Jadeed Hospital holds 50 beds, including 16 beds for intensive care units.

These hospitals are supported by 28 health centers distributed on places of accommodation of pilgrims and on the main streets, in addition to 18 other health units established this year on the Holy Sites' train stations, and 17 health centers on the Jamarat Bridge.
