Fines on MOH Health Practitioners for Violating Rules

His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah Bin AbdulAziz Al Rabeeah has approved a decision to fine a doctor working in one of Medinah’s Health Affairs hospitals SR (20.000); in accordance to article (28) paragraph (7), article (9) paragraph (A) and article (26) of the Health Profession Regulations. This was due to her negligence in practicing the right medical procedures in surgery, and neglecting a patient before and after her discharge. In addition, pursuant to article (1/32) of the Practicing Healthcare Professions Law, the decision included warning another doctor and prohibiting him from any administrative public-related position; due to him breaching the code of conduct and mistreating visitors. This is based on article (31) of the previously mentioned law.

 Moreover, Dr. Al Rabeeah has approved the penalizing of two nurses working in one of Taif’s Health Affairs Directorate hospitals. One of them will be fined SR (3,000) and the other, who is a social worker, will be fined SR (2,000). This is due to them discharging a patient without following-up his case or contacting his family. Their actions breach the regulations stipulated in article (26) and (9) paragraph (A) of the Practicing Healthcare Professions Law.

These resolutions reflect the continual efforts of the (MoH) to raise the quality of its health facilities, monitor the performance of its employees, to ensure the improvement of services, and the functioning of healthcare facilities in accordance with the regulations and procedures.
