MOH Media and Health Information Center Launches “Hello, Healthy Ramadan” Program

Dr. Khalid Bin Muhammad Marghalani, the Supervisor General of Media, Relations and Health Awareness, said, “Proceeding from the application of the motto “Patient First”, and as a part of the interest paid by the Ministry of Health (MOH) towards all groups of society, The MOH Media and Health Awareness Information Center launches during the holy month of Ramadanthe annual Program “Hello, Healthy Ramadan”for the consecutive tenth year.Through this Program, the Center will host elite of consultantphysicians and specialists in all specialties; in order to focus on public health and chronic diseases. The Center will also host specialists in regulating the process of medication-takingduring fasting”.
 
Dr. Marghalani went on adding that the Program is to be available for the public via five main means, including the MOH toll free number: 8002494444, and the MOH account on Facebook and Twitter: @SAUDIMOH.
 
During this year, the MOH Information Center will conduct a TV interviewwith consultant physicians, with the aim ofputting forward a summary for the FAQs, each in his respectivespecialization, as well as discussing the questions and inquiries that have been received during the direct contact with patients and beneficiaries of health services via the three main means mentioned above. It is noteworthy that the Center will broadcast such interviews live viathe MOH Channel onYouTube, “MOH Portal”. Also, the Center’s specialists are to prepare a news report on the interview, to sendit to the mass media to be published via newspapers and websites in the next day.
 
Within the same vein,the Acting Director of Media and Health Awareness Information Center, Ph. Al-Bandari Al-Bishi, has pointed out that the Center will host Dr. Mazen bin Adnan Barry, a Consultant in the Infectious Diseases, on Thursday 11thJuly, 2013 (corresponding to 2nd Ramadan, 1434H) from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. via theCenter’s toll free number: 8002494444 and the MOH account on the social networking websites; in order to answer callers’ inquiries on all matters related to novel Coronavirus (MERS-CoV), as well as the other infections and the diseases of the summer, and to providethe public with the most prominent tips enabling them to perform fasting without suffering from health issues, Allah Willing, given thatmost questions in this blessed month, especially from people with chronic and infectious diseases,  arerelated to the manner of regulating the process of medication-taking.
 
Moreover, the Center will host Dr. Aws bin Abdullah Al-Zayd, a Consultant in Diabetes, on Sunday14thJuly, 2013 (corresponding to 5thRamadan, 1434H) from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in order to answer callers’ enquiries on all matters related to the diabetics’ fasting, given that this group of patients in particularis suffering more than others when fasting, as some of them feel a sudden drop in diabetes during fasting, and others feel dizzy and shiver that cannot be controlled, as well asother complications.
 
Within the same week, the Center will host Dr. Abdurrahman bin Ali Al-Rabee‘an, a Consultant in Gastroenterology and Endoscopy, on Tuesday16th July, 2013 (corresponding to 7th Ramadan, 1434H) from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., as well as Dr. Rou’a bint Nasser Al-Nasser, a Specialist in a Pediatrics, on Wednesday 17th July, 2013 (corresponding to 8th Ramadan, 1434H) from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
 
Ph. Al-Bandari Al-Bishi has further noted that the Center will host during thesecond week Dr. Ibtihaj Saud Al-Oraini, a Consultant in Therapeutic Nutrition, on Sunday 21th July, 2013 (corresponding to 12th  Ramadan, 1434H) from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., as well as Dr. Muneera Abdullah Ba-Raja’, a Consultant in Family and Community Medicine, on Monday 22th July, 2013 (corresponding to 13th  Ramadan, 1434H) from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Dr. Jameel Hamza Faqeeha, a Consultant in Orthopedic Surgery, on Wednesday 24th July, 2013 (corresponding to 15th  Ramadan, 1434H) from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
