The Deputy Director General of Laboratories and Blood Banks, Dr. Ali bin Muhammad Al-Shanqeeti, has inaugurated the day before yesterday the first scientific meeting dubbed: “Health Facilities Staff Safety”, which was organized by the Laboratories and Blood Banks General Department in cooperation with the Health Facilities Infection Control General Department at the Ministry of Health (MOH).
Dr. Al-Shanqeeti has pointed out that this meeting comes within the framework of the MOH interest of the safety and security of the health facilities staff, which is reckoned the cornerstone for the health care, the medical services quality and the importance of the health facility; for being the destination people recourse to for cure, as well as the place that is supposed to be at the highest level of security, safety and health.
He went on to add that the meeting reviewed a number of scientific papers in this area, through specialists and experts in the field of health facilities infection control at MOH and other health sectors.
Dr. Al-Shanqeeti has expounded that the meeting included a brief overview of the work process followed by MOH in the field of health facilities infection control, in terms of the emphasis that the staff safety is a responsibility, which can only be achieved through concerted efforts of all health sector staff. This will impact on the safety of services provided for patients, and accordingly the quality of results, which certainly to be accompanied by the lower rates of re-health care for patients, and the lower rates of infection in hospitals.
