MOH Announces the Demise of a Saudi Woman Due to Infection with Corona Virus

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced the death of a Saudi woman. According to the diagnosis of the laboratory analysis results, it was proved that she was infected with the new strain of Corona Virus (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome - SARS). This citizen has been admitted to one of Riyadh's hospitals after her coming back from a journey outside the Kingdom as she has been diagnosed to be infected with SARS. Hence she has been provided with the supportive treatment, appropriate for these cases, just like the viruses causing the respiratory infections such as seasonal flu and, but it did not give any response or result.
 
MOH declared that it will keep on following up the updates of this new virus in coordination with the international and regional medical organizations and authorities. Besides, MOH has conducted the precautionary procedures and the epidemiological survey for those who contacted the woman and the hospital staff. In addition, MOH has informed the concerned authorities including the World Health Organization (WHO) according to the International Health Regulations (IHR).
 
It is noteworthy that this case is reckoned the thirteenth of those infected with this virus worldwide.
Finally, we pray for Allah Almighty to have mercy upon the deceased, make the paradise her eternal abode and bestow upon her relatives patience and condolences.
