Dr. Al-Rabeeah Wins this Year's Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences

His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, has been named the winner of this year's Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, which is held for the 7th consecutive year (2011 – 2012).
 
The award is to be presented to Dr. Al-Rabeeah next Monday, 27/1/1434H, corresponding to 11/12/2012, while honoring the winners by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and the UAE Minister of Finance. The honoring ceremony, to be held at Rashid Hall annexed to the Dubai World Trade Centre, will be attended by several international bodies and diplomatic representatives. In the mean time, the 7th Dubai International Conference for Medical Sciences will be organized. Dr. Al-Rabeeah will participate in the conference by giving a lecture to touch upon his rich experience in the separation of conjoined twins, generally looked upon as a substantial medical achievement.
 
The award official made clear that such an honoring has come in recognition of Dr. Al-Rabeeah's colossal contributions and momentous efforts, in an endeavor to develop all domains of medical and humanitarian services at the international scale, in general, and the Saudi health sector, in particular.
 
It is noteworthy, Dr. Al-Rabeeah is among the most prominent figures who have got this award since its launch in 1999. It mainly seeks to encourage scholars, scientists and physicians who proved effective in the various medical and health research domains.
 
It is worth mentioning that 28 physicians and volunteers for humanitarian medical services have won Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, including Americans, Britons, Australians, Germans and Finnish, in addition to Arab and Gulf figures.
