His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, has treasured the unstinting efforts he got to see during the inspection tour he made this morning (October 22, 2012) through a number of Makkah's health facilities which provide health services for pilgrims during the 1433-Hajj season. Among the hospitals he visited was King Faisal Hospital (Al-Sheshah), King Abdulaziz Hospital, and the Maternity and Children Hospital. He acclaimed the teamwork adopted by the officials and employees working at these facilities.
During his inspection tour, Dr. Al-Rabeeah was quoted as saying, “The Maternity and Children Hospital is one of the hospitals that brought honor to the Ministry of Health, as it was inaugurated by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. It is reckoned a paradigm shift in the health services provided by the Ministry, for it was equipped in accordance with the world's highest and latest medical technologies, thus abiding by the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, May Allah protect them, to provide best-quality healthcare services for all citizens and residents. The same high standard adopted in the Maternity and Children Hospital will be adopted in all health facilities, Allah willing.”
His Excellency the Minister of Health made clear that such inspection tours and visits are intended to encourage health workers, as well as complying with the directions of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to keep a close eye on everything related to pilgrims' health, and making every effort to remove all obstacles, thus bringing into effect the Ministry's ever sought-after slogan: “Patient first”. He said, “We are here seeking after a humanitarian objective; which is serving both the citizens and residents of our beloved Kingdom. I would reiterate to them the gracious words of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, to be “militants” (mujahedeen), and to work sincerely and skillfully for the advantage of the patients and needy. In his message to citizens, Dr. Al-Rabeeah said, “This hospital is yours, and entirely devoted to maintaining your health and safety. Work with us, hand in hand, to ensure for you a level of healthcare that fulfills the aspirations of the Rulers, and meets your needs.”
Dr. Al-Rabeeah added that the health services provided for the Guest of Allah (pilgrims) come at the direction of the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, May Allah protect them, to provide all the necessary services for maintaining pilgrims' health and safety. “The Ministry is sparing no effort to improve and raise the level of medical devices working at MOH hospitals, as well as the types of medications, with a view to reach at a unified drug formulary, in addition to another formulary form medical devices and equipments, thus maintaining the high-quality standards,” said Al-Rabeeah.
He further expounded that the Ministry of Health has been assuming, and will continue to assume, its leading role in the provision of best-quality health services. Errors and shortcomings are always possible, but we're keen to promptly address them as soon as possible. In the meantime, development and renovation projects are currently in full swing, with a view to provide as high-quality services as those provided in the world's best hospitals. He mentioned that the health sector embraces a constellation of highly qualified and experienced cadres devoted to serving pilgrims.
Concluding his statement, His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, underscored the importance of the consolidation of efforts of all sectors, in an endeavor to highlight the bright side of the Kingdom in caring for pilgrims hailing from every deep and distant to perform the Hajj rites and go back home safe and healthy. And he went on to say that all MOH employees work as one team, and one family, seeking to provide best health services for pilgrims, abiding by the the Royal Decree stipulating the adoption of high-tech medical equipments, and circulating them throughout all health facilities.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Al-Rabeeah inspection tour began with King Faisal Hospital (in Makkah), where he took a look at what have been accomplished thus far in the tower project, and listened to an elaborate account of the project. It followed that he moved to King Abdulaziz Hospital, and conducted an inspection tour at its tower, and listened to an elaborate account of the work process. He concluded his inspection tour by paying a visit to the New Maternity and Children Hospital, which has been opened by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, May Allah protect him, as he visited all the Hospital's sections and clinics.
