Inauguration of 420 Health Projects and Foundation-Laying of 127 Projects under the Auspices of King Abdullah
   The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, May Allah protect him, has inaugurated and laid the foundation of a number of health projects, at a total cost of over SR 12 billion. These projects have covered all the Kingdom's regions, including medical cities, general and specialist hospitals, primary healthcare centers, specialized medical centers, medical towers, digital operation theatres, and centers for cardiologic and diabetic surgeries.

His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, has mentioned that the total cost of these projects is SR 12.084.987.241. This budget covers the inauguration of several health projects in several regions, at a total cost of SR 5.428.103.492, and laying the foundation of another set of health projects, covering all regions, at a total cost of SR 6.656.883.749. 

According to Dr. Al-Rabeeah, the Ministry has operated a total of 54 hospitals over the past four years, at a total bed capacity of 6530 beds, in addition to 645 primary healthcare centers. 

It is worthwhile to mention that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques has launched a set of benevolent projects, including, to start, the Hajj projects, encompassing the East Arafat Hospital (236 beds), and 10 health care projects, at a total cost of SR 153.451.541.00.

These projects were followed by the inauguration of the projects of hospitals and specialized medical centers (28 centers); at a total cost of SR 3.894.361.992.00. They are King Faisal Hospital – Taif, the Maternity and Children Hospital – Makkah, and the Maternity and Children Hospital – Dammam (500 beds each), South Riyadh Hospital and Al-Quai'eya Hospital in Riyadh Region (200 beds each), Al-Badae' Hospital in Al-Qassim Region and the Medical Tower of Jazan General Hospital (100 beds each). That's to be added to the renovation of the infrastructure of Al-Noor Hospital, Badr Al-Janoob Hospital and Yudmah Hospital in Najran, and Khobah Hospital and Al-Raith Hospital in Jazan, in addition to the hospitals located in Al-Homor, Al-Maddah, Al-Harjah, and Tanumah in Assir, and the hospitals located in Al-Asiah and Al-Nabahaniyah in Al-Qassim (50 beds each). Thus, these projects are of a total of 2600 beds. The recently inaugurated projects include, also, the Open-Heart Surgical Center of King Abdullah Medical City in Makkah, and the development of the advanced digital operation theatres and the neurological intensive care units, as well as the establishment of advanced pediatric operation theatres, and introducing automated electronic control systems of pharmaceutical services at King Fahad Medical City – Riyadh. They also include the projects of expansion and equipping of digital information rooms, and the expansion of radiology centers and equipping them with integrated digital medical imaging systems, in addition to the expansion of outpatient clinics, and equipping of a building with the cyclotron system at King Fahad Specialist Hospital in Dammam. That's to be added to opening 154 digital operation theatres throughout the Kingdom's regions, and 4 diabetes centers in the Easter Region, Jazan, Assir, and Al-Ahsa. 

In the field of primary healthcare services, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques has inaugurated 381 primary healthcare centers throughout the Kingdom's regions, at a total cost of SR 1.380.289.959.00.

Moreover, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, May Allah protect him, has laid the foundation of a number of health projects, including medical cities, specialist hospitals and specialized medical centers, at a total cost of SR 3.794.415.208. He has laid the foundation of Prince Mohamed bin Abdulaziz Medical City to serve the people of the northern regions (phase 1), King Faisal Medical City to serve the people of the southern regions (phase 1), and the third medical tower at King Saud Medical City (400 beds), in addition to Neuroscience Center at King Abdullah Medical City – Makkah, specialized medical centers at King Fahad Medical City – Riyadh, and a specialist hospital in Jazan (500 beds). 

The projects opened by the Custodian of the Two Holy mosques included, also, the foundation-laying of a number of general hospitals in several regions, at a total cost of SR 2.415.550.935. They are: the Maternity and Children Hospital – Jeddah (400 beds), Al-Miqat Hospital – Madinah (300 beds), the Maternity and Children Hospital in Sakaka – Al-Jouf (300 beds), and Khamees Meshait Hospital – Assir (300 beds). That's to be added to the establishing of the Emergency Tower at Prince Salman Hospital – Riyadh (200 beds), Al-Darb Hospital – Jazan (200 beds), the Emergency Tower at Al-Eman Hospital – Riyadh (200 beds), Al-Jomoom Hospital – Makkah (100 beds), and Baqiq Hospital in the Eastern Region (100 beds), in addition to 73 digital operation theatres distributed on the Kingdom's regions.

Last but not least, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques has laid the foundation of 111 primary healthcare centers throughout the Kingdom's regions, at a total cost of SR 446.917.606.
