Under the auspices of the Deputy Minister of Health for Primary Healthcare, Dr. Mohamed bin Omar Ba-Sulaiman, a meeting has been recently held for the assistant directors-general of MOH departments and health affairs directorates of all regions and provinces. The meeting was attended by His Excellency the Director-General of Health Centers and Programs Affairs, Dr. Essam bin Abdullah Al-Ghamdi.
Several issues related to the work of health centers and public health departments have been discussed during the meeting, including the work cycle of such departments, reviewing the labor force and their experiences and capabilities, as compared to the needs and demands, following up the renovation and modernization projects of health centers, along with their medical and non-medical equipment, improving the services provided by health centers, and meeting citizens' tangible needs.
Besides, the meeting touched upon the organizational structure and tasks of the Public Health Department, in an effort to make it concordant with the new organizational structures of the Ministry and health affairs directorates. That's to be added to reviewing the achievements of the Health Centers Accreditation Program (100 health centers), as well as the operational plan of the Kingdom's Primary Healthcare Strategy.
As the meeting drew to a close, a number of recommendations, in the hope that they will contribute to raise the level of the health programs adopted at health centers, in a way that will give rise to citizens' health, Allah willing, in terms of the curative, preventive and developmental aspects. The recommendations are meant, also, to promote the efficiency of the available resources, and make optimal use of them, in a way that realizes the MOH's trends and orientations targeting serving patients, gaining their satisfaction, and improving the health services provided to them.
