In regard to what was published in local newspapers yesterday about the embezzlement and theft of large quantities of vaccines and sera from one of the Health Affairs Directorates’ warehouses in one of the provinces, the Ministry of Health (MOH), first of all, would like to express its thanks and appreciation to The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) for supporting and cooperating with the Ministry.
The Ministry of Health clarifies that after discovering the thefts and verifying all the needed information, it informed NACC in a timely manner, as it is the concerned authority. A joint committee was formed immediately, in which members of both sides were included, forming a specialized technical team. Moreover, the Ministry of Health is represented by the Control and Internal Auditing General Department. The committee has conducted investigations and implemented the followed statutory procedures, in coordination with the related security authority.
In conclusion, the Ministry stresses its commitment to pursue the implementation of transparency principles with all concerned bodies. It is also keen to execute legal sanctions against any person found to be in violation of the regulations. May Allah guide us all to the straight path.
