Dr. Al-Rabeeah Administratively Links Medical Cities to the Deputies Minister of Health, and Grants Powers to MOH Officials

   His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, has issued a number of administrative resolutions meant to develop the work process at all MOH facilities and departments, seeking to enhance the flow and flexibility of work, and facilitate the provision of high-quality health services for patients and beneficiaries, thus putting into effect the MOH slogan: “Patient First”. These resolutions stipulated linking King Fahad Medical City (KFMC), based in Riyadh, and King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital (KKESH) in Dammam (King Khaled Medical City in the Eastern Region) to His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Health for Health Affairs: financially, administratively and technically. They stipulated, also, linking King Abdullah Medical City (KAMC), based in Makkah, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Medical City (the Northern Border Region), and King Faisal Medical City (the Southern Region), to His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Health for Planning and Development: financially, administratively and technically. 
 
Besides, the resolutions stipulated granting the MOH officials a wide range of powers, including the approval of submitting MOH projects and demands through public tenders, and adopting them when awarding or signing the contracts of tenders, as well as increasing or decreasing contracts, hiring new buildings, or renewing the old ones. That's to be added to allowing officials to lend employees. Among the powers granted to MOH officials, also, is to approve hiring new employees at the jobs included in the Employees Regulation and the Wages Code, in addition to hiring people for administrative posts under the self-employment programs, and the renewal of contacts. In addition, the resolutions allowed those holding powers to delegate their powers to others depending on work requirements and the necessary demands for the new post. The resolutions stipulated, also, granting a number of powers for the Director-General of Saudi Organ Transplantation Center, and the CEO of the National Center for Alternative and Complementary Medicine, as well as assigning His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Health for Planning and Development as the chairman of the Hajj preparatory committees.
 
The above-mentioned resolutions obligated that all officials have to adhere to the work hierarchy according to the organizational structure approved by the Ministry of Health (MOH), and all the resolutions issued in this regard. They made clear, also, that everyone has to work in compliance with these powers, according to the codes, instructions and circulations adopted by the Ministry.
