06 June 2012
As the second week of the Summer Health Awareness Program, organized by the MOH Media Information and Health Awareness Center, draws to a close, the Director of the Center, Ph. Amal bent Mo'aweyah Abul-Jadayel, mentioned that the Center receives about 400 calls daily on the toll-free number 8002494444, from all over the Kingdom and all age segments, as well as thousands of tweets posted by the Program's followers on Twitter (@saudimoh). The number of followers of the Program has been doubled five times as a result of the implementation of this program.

Ph. Amal Abul-Jadayel pointed out that the impressive success achieved by the Program could be attributed to certain reasons, most notably the element of timing, in addition to the importance of the subjects and issues tackled, especially at the beginning of Summer, which is a high season of travel for most citizens and residents. “There is no doubt that the attraction of an eminent constellation of senior physicians of consultants to provide apt answers for callers' questions, as well as the diversity of subjects and health-related issues, have been very effective in making success of this program.”

“Based on the impressive success achieved by the Summer Health Awareness Program over the past two weeks,” Ph. Abul-Jadayel said, “the Media Information and Health Awareness Center will continue to carry about this program for the third consecutive week, as of next Saturday, June 9th, 2012. More high-profile consultants and specialists will be interviewed at the Center, so that people can contact them at the toll-free number: 8002494444, and the MOH's account on Twitter (@saudimoh). They will be receiving callers' questions and provide apt answers for them.”

At the beginning of the third week of the Summer Health Awareness Program, on Saturday and Sunday (June 9th and 10th, 2012), the Center will interview the Director-General of Health Facilities Infection Control, Dr. Abdullah Essairi, from 10 am to 12 pm, to give the important tips to be followed in travels, especially those that have to do with sexually transmitted diseases, and the diseases caused by lack of hygiene. On Monday, June 11th, 2012, from 1 to 3 pm, the Center will interview Dr. Amal Kenanah, a therapeutic nutrition specialist, to talk about food poisoning problems, which becomes quite common in summer, considering the fact that more and more people depend on fast and processed food in summer. She will give tips on how to avoid such problems, especially in travels.

On Tuesday, June 12th, 2012, from 1 to 3 pm, the Center will be interviewing Dr. Naelah Asaad Abul-Jadayel, a consultant of chest diseases, to provide apt answers for callers' questions on respirator diseases, especially in dusty regions.

On the last day of the third week, Wednesday, June 13th, 2012, the center will interview Dr. Hafizah Al-Turkestani, a consultant of Obstetrics and Gynecology, to talk about the substantial problems and challenges facing women, especially those pregnant.
