Irqah Hospital Doesn't Belong to the MOH Hospitals
28 May 2012
Page Content
Referring to what has recently appeared on a number of mass media and social networks, with regard to Irqah Hospital, the Ministry of Health (MOH) would like to make clear that the hospital is not one of the MOH hospitals. It was established many years ago as a private hospital, but has not been operated ever since.
Years ago, a committee was formed of a number of governmental bodies and entities, with the aim to consider how to make good use of the hospital. It should be taken into account, in this regard, that the hospital is nothing but an old building, without any equipment, and that it is now inappropriate for use, and, in order to be of any use, it needs to be completely restructured and rehabilitated; which is very costly.
The Ministry of Health calls upon mass media, when tackling this issue, to take into consideration that the hospital is not one of the MOH hospitals. The Ministry has already issued a number of press releases in which it was made clear that the hospital is by no means one of the MOH hospitals.
