Media Information and Health Awareness Center Interviews Renowned Physicians and Specialists
27 May 2012
Within the framework of the Summer Health Awareness Program, presented by the MOH Media Information and Health Awareness Center, the center continues to interview a constellation of the renowned physicians and specialists. Tomorrow, May 28th, 2012, the center will have Dr. A'eshah Al-Saghir, a consultant of home medicine, and an advisor to the MOH Home Medicine for Training and Development. From 10 am to 12 pm, she will be talking about home medicine. She can be reached at the Center's toll-free number: 8002494444.

Dr. Al-Saghir will shed light on many topics and issues that have to do with home medicine. She well explain how home medicine programs help provide safe and secure healthcare services for patients at their homes, and how this is likely to serve patients in need of medical follow-up at home, without hospitalization. This concept has been put into action in many countries around the world, and, as it proved considerable success, it was largely accepted and developed. To date, the outcomes of the adoption of the home medicine program are very promising, and the achievements accomplished in this domain are very palpable.
Moreover, Dr. Al-Saghir will point out the objectives of the Home Medicine Program, and the standards to be met by patients to benefit from the Home Medicine Program.

It should be noted that the culminative number of patients who have benefitted from the Home Medicine Program has mounted to 15329 patients by the end of the first quarter of this year. They enjoy the various home healthcare services (curative, preventive, rehabilitative, social and educational services). The number of hospitals applying this program is 138 hospitals, whereas the number of field medical teams is 216 teams (940 health workers).

On the same day, from 1 to 3 pm, the MOH Media Information and Health Awareness Center will be interviewing the Assistant Director-General of Parasitic and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Amin Mushakhes. He is expected to shed light on the immunization programs implemented by the Ministry of Health (MOH). The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is one of the world's forerunners in the field of vaccination coverage. It has reached a very high level of immunization, and was successful in the eradication of several infectious diseases, as well as diminishing the incidence of the other diseases targeted by immunization to a low level (below average).
Dr. Mushakhes will be receiving caller's questions and inquiries on communicable diseases and how to protect ourselves against them.
