17 April 2012
His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, urged all the MOH's departments and health affairs directorates of all regions to strictly abide by the Royal Decree obligating all the competent authorities to make every effort to develop their respective services, provide them to citizens feasibly and smoothly, and seek to avert any deficiencies or shortcomings. In a ministerial circulation issued to that end, Dr. Al-Rabeeah has underscored the importance of providing best-quality health services for citizens, and adhering to the Royal Decree strictly and precisely.

It was made clear in the circulation that the Ministry of Health (MOH) has taken its slogan: “Patient First” as its ultimate objective, and the inspiring axis around which all its efforts revolve. To that end, the Ministry is keen to continuously develop its services, seeking to gain the patients' contentment. In this spirit, it has recently developed and enacted a number of programs oriented to patients' service, such as the Patient Relations and Rights Program, whose staff, now more than 1200 employees, are generally looked upon as supporters of the patients' rights. One of the innovative and productive programs, also, is the Home Medicine Program, serving more than 15000 patients throughout the Kingdom's regions and provinces.

Among the important programs, also, are the Bed Management Program and the Day Surgery Program. It is worth mentioning that, by way of the Day Surgery Program, about 50000 surgeries have been performed over the year 1432H. The program managed to raise the quality of day surgeries from 2 to 33 per cent in most MOH hospitals. That's to be added to the medical support program (Visiting Doctor), which managed to attract 1323 consultants to proved specialized health services for citizens in peripheral regions.

The Ministry called upon the beneficiaries of its services to get in contact with it through its official channels. The telephone number: (2124224) has been devoted to receiving patients' complaints and comments on the health services provided by MOH facilities. Besides, the Ministry has provided the “Citizen's Voice” service with the aim to listen to citizens' opinions and suggestions by means of the MOH Portal: (www.moh.gov.sa). It follows that these complains, opinions and suggestions are submitted to His Excellency the Minister of Health so as to take the proper action. Citizens can get in contact with the Ministry, also, through social networks (Facebook, Twitter, etc.).
