Dr. Al-Rabeeah: "Caring for Patients and Serving them Are our Motto We're Seeking to Put into Action".

   The Third Consultative Meeting of the MOH Senior Officials at the Kingdom's regions and provinces continued on Wednesday morning in Yanbo', headed by His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, to study the challenges and difficulties facing the delivery of health services. Participants assured the importance of the continuous support of safety programs and improving the provided services to the beneficiaries of health services, most importantly the Clinical Audit Program which is a follow-up program of 49 clinical indicators and will be applied in 90 MOH hospitals, and the Consultant Productivity Follow-up Progam, through of the assessment of their surgeries and clinical visits.
 
The participants also stressed on the importance of supporting the Drug Safety Program, by training specialized pharmacists to monitor the implementation of Drug Safety Guide, educate the doctors and nursing staff on the best way to give medicine, the potential dangers, and ways to avoid them.
 
Participants also discussed the scientific steps for the Performance Improvement at Operating Rooms Program, which was implemented in 20 MOH hospitals. They agreed on the importance of support and follow-up to the private sector and stressed the importance of the strategic role played, and also recommended the importance of improving the service provided to the patient and making the service compatible with systems and strategies embraced by Ministry of Health (MOH), especially those which take the patient as their focus, in addition to underscoring  the importance of medical licenses to support the objectives of the Ministry for the service of patients. They also accentuated the importance of adoption of the culture of the slogan (Patient First), and making the service of the patient and the service user at the center of their concerns.
 
Also, everyone stressed the importance of continuing to support the MOH programs, harnessed to serve the patient, placing particular emphasis on the Home Medicine Program, currently covering more than 15 thousand patients, the Visiting Doctor Program, which has been able to attract more than 1300 consultants in rare medical specialties, and the Day Surgery Program, applied at hospitals with bed capacity of 100 beds or more. The total number of hospitals participating in the Day Surgery Program is 88 hospitals, and the program continued its success as the number of surgeries per day, which were conducted in 1432 H was about 55.500 operations, at a rate of 31.5 % of the total operations, with an increasing of about 60 % of the operations performed in 1431H.
 
In conclusion, His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, ended the meeting by emphasizing the Ministry's keen interest in preserving patients health, taking his service as a top priority. He also reiterated the importance of making every effort to put into effect the MOH slogan. His Excellency, besides, placed particular emphases on the adoption of the principle of transparency and integrity.
