Governor of Tabuk and Minister of Health to Lay the Foundations of Health Projects

   On Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012, His Royal Highness Prince Fahad bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Tabuk Region, in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, will be laying the foundations of a number of health projects in the Region at a total cost of SR 875.170.000.
 
These projects include the establishment of the Maternity and Children Hospital (200 beds), at a cost of SR 409.170.000, the establishment of Mental Health Hospital (200 beds), at a total cost of SR 200.000.000, the establishment of the Regional Laboratory, Blood Bank and Poison Center at a cost of SR 60.000.000, and the establishment of four central warehouses at a total cost of SR 16.000.000, in addition to the establishment of the Workers' Residences of King Fahad Hospitals, as well as the hospitals of Taima, Omloj and Duba, at a cost of SR 230.000.000.
 
The MOH Spokesperson, Dr. Khaled bin Mohammed Marghalani, pointed out that there are a number of health projects underway in Tabuk Region, including: the establishment of King Fahad Specialist Hospital in Tabuk (500 beds), at a cost of SR 305.000.000, the establishment of Taima Hospital (100 beds), at a cost of SR 85.000.000, the establishment of Omloj Hospital (100 beds) at a total cost of SR 117.000.000, the establishment of Duba Hospital (100 beds) at a total cost of SR 117.000.000, the establishment of four health centers (as part of phase 420) at a cost of SR 14.000.000, the establishment of three health centers (as part of phase 440) at a cost of SR 115.000.000, the establishment of 11 health centers (as part of phase 385) at a cost of SR 45.500.000, the establishment and equipment of the Diabetes Center at King Khaled Hospital, at a cost of SR 7.500.000, the establishment of Tabuk Dental Center at a cost of 15.000.000, and the establishment of Workers' Residence at Al-Wajh Hospital, at a cost of SR 40.000.000. 
 
“Right now,” Dr. Marghalani added, “Tabuk Health Affairs General Directorate is working on a number of service programs, including the provision of (Visiting Doctor) services by a number of 61 specialists, and the provision of (Home Medicine) services to a number of 460 patients, at a rate of 5715 visits, as well as the provision of (Day Surgery) services, making up 37% of the total number of surgeries performed in the Region.” 
 
Concluding his statement, Dr. Marghalani expressed his gratitude and appreciation to His Royal Highness the Governor of Tabuk for his gracious patronage of this event, which reflects the Wise Leadership's keen interest in health services. Meanwhile, he emphasized that MOH, under the direction of His Excellency the Minister of Health, spares no effort to develop its services and improve performance at all health facilities. In so doing, the Ministry seeks to fulfill the Governors' aspirations on the one hand, and meet citizens' health requirements on the other hand, in a way that puts into effect the MOH's slogan: “Patient First”.
