MOH Receives the Initial Implementation Plan for Three Projects for Mental Health and Drug Rehabilitation Hospitals

Eng. Ahmad Bin Ali Al Byez, General Supervisor of Projects and Engineering Affairs for the Ministry of Health, announced that on Saturday, 14-5-2011, the Ministry of Health received the implementation plans for three projects for mental health and drug rehabilitation hospitals, each with a 100-bed capacity; locations for these facilities are Al Jouf, Arar and Al Geryat, under the supervision of HE Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al Rabeeah. Specialized commissions were formed, and the three projects will be carried out by Al Latifia Trading and Contracting Company. 

The Project Manager for the Ministry, Eng. Salman Bin Saeed Al Asmari, stated that international standards were applied in these hospitals, and that past experiences were taken into consideration while designing safety and security measures.  E-coordination will be used in the surveillance and security systems to ensure the safety of staff and patients during emergencies.  Both outdoor green spaces and indoor environments were designed to provide a comfortable environment both patients and hospital staff.  He also pointed out that while the current bed capacity is sufficient for present use; additional space has been allocated to allow bed capacity to be doubled at any time in the future.
