Dr. Al Hawasi: Improve Health Facilities Leaderships Reflects on the Developmental Movement

​Executive Affairs Deputy Minister, Dr. Mansour Al Hawasi stressed on the importance of improving health facilities leaderships in a way it reflects on the comprehensive developmental movement. That is applied by MOH on all its sectors in order to enhance health services quality. That is according to the directions of the guardians and under the supervision of the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz AL Rabeeah.
 
This was stated on Saturday in the Tulip inn, during the opening of the activities of the Hospital Directors' Skills Development Training Program. The program is organized by the General Directorate of Hospitals in cooperation with General Directorate for Training and Scholarship, with the participation of the directors of 26 hospitals from 8 health regions.
Nevertheless, Assistant Undersecretary for Curative Medicine, Dr. Aqeel Al Ghamdi assured that MOH is doing its best in providing distinguish health services to citizens. That is in addition to the ministry commitment to improve the quality of the health services provided in hospitals, health centers, various specialized centers in addition to education and researches centers. Where improving health services quality is mainly linked to training, hoping that the program will improve citizens' health services.
On the other hand, Assistant General Director for Hospitals, Dr. Riyadh Al Khalif, revealed that the directors of more than 180 hospitals have been subjected to the Hospital Directors' Skills Development Training Program, in addition to the directors of 75 (100-150 beds) hospitals.

Moreover, Dr. Al Khalif indicated that this program will be within the framework of MOH efforts to improve work at its hospitals and the comprehensive plan to develop hospital director's performance. This plan aims to provide them with the basics of hospital management and the needed skills to run their hospitals.
 
That is by introducing them to the management basics, the main principles of health care quality, strategic planning concept, elements and obstacles, change management, performance evaluating methods in addition to the management role in accrediting hospitals. Moreover, it also aims to provide them with the effective director main skills (solving problems - making decisions – communication and medical consultation skills – team leading - effective director skills and characteristics)
Dr. Khalif clarified that workshops will be organized with MOH General Directorates' managers and leaders to identify these directorates' tasks and solve hospital directors' problems. He also indicated that 26 directorates from 8 health regions will participate in this course.

They will be trained by a distinguish group of trainers specialized in hospitals management and human development. In addition, a number of MOH general directors will attend the workshops in order to provide notes and directions and to answer their questions.
