01 February 2011
Page Content
Within the framework of the training initiative launched by the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz AL Rabeeah last week about training health practitioners to improve their performance quality, General Directorate of Hospitals provided a training course for orthopedic physicians, including consultants, residents and specialists.
The course lasted for 2 days 29-30/1/2011 under the title (Treating Injuries and Fractures). This course was provided because MOH believes in the importance of training in improving the working staff in health facilities.
Director General of Hospitals, Dr. Abdul Aziz Hamed Al-Ghamdi stated that many foreign and Saudi distinguished lecturers participated in the course.
He also pointed out that the course discussed the last updates in treating injuries and different types of fractures in limbs, spine and pelvis. It also included specialized workshops in the same field.
Dr. Al-Ghamdi, clarified that more than 60 orthopedic surgeons from MOH hospitals from the Kingdom’s different regions have participated in the course. Saudi Commission for Health Specialties accredited 12 continuous training hours.
On the other hand, training course coordinator, Dr. Ahmed Al Jba’ai, clarified that General Directorate of Hospitals is determined to provide a similar course in Crown Plaza Hotel in Jeddah with the presence of 70 orthopedic surgeons during the period of 1-2/2/2011.
Dr. Al Jba’ai, pointed out that this course will improve physicians proficiency in treating injuries and fractures. That is by exchanging thoughts and expertise among foreign and Saudi physicians in addition to knowing the last updates in treating fractures, the new techniques for treating them in addition to internal and external fixation tools.
Nevertheless, by accrediting MOH comprehensive training plan of 1432; the Minister of Health ordered last week to train more than 12 thousand employees under the title of Training is for everyone.
That is in MOH Divan and health directorates all over the Kingdom through providing short courses. 35 directorates will organize more than 400 courses during this year in order to train the employees in several fields, which include different specializations like administration, medicine, health, media, training, awareness, education and supportive services.
