Nutrition, Heart and Digestive System Addressed by the Information Center through its Toll-Free Service

The Media Information and Health Awareness Center, under the MOH Media and Health Awareness General Department, continues for the second consecutive week to provide the service dubbed: (Pilgrims' service is our concern), through the toll-free number: 8002494444. The Center makes daily interviews with the Kingdom's senior medical consultants of various health specialties. On Saturday, falling on 2/12/1432H (29/10/2011), from 1 to 3 pm, the Center is interviewing Dr. Amal Kenanah, therapeutic nutrition consultant, to provide answers for the questions and inquires relating to this vital and important area, posed by those intending to perform Hajj this year. She will also come across the best food for pilgrims, the necessary standards to be met by the food service provided for pilgrims, in addition to giving counsels and tips aiming to protect pilgrims, with the help of Allah Almighty, from food poisoning during Hajj.
Whereas, on Sunday, 3/12/1432H (30/10/2011), from 1 to 3 pm, Dr. Muhib Al-Abdullah, senior heart consultant at Prince Sultan Cardiac Center, is expected to provide awareness tips for the elderly, and respond to their inquiries, in a way that determines whether or not the patient will be able to perform the Hajj rites.
Still, more physicians and cosultants to be interviewed; Dr. Nasser Al-Dossari, consultant and head of Digestive System and Liver Division, at King Saud Medical Complex, Riyadh, will be answering the inquiries made be patients and their families in this important specialty. This will be in the course of two hours, from 10 am to 12 pm, on Monday, 28/11/1432H (26/10/2011).
Needless to say, the specialists of the Media Information and Health Awareness Center will be providing, throughout the working time, the important tips and precautions for pilgrims and their families on the indispensability of adhering to the medical prescriptions and other health-related issues, as well as the necessary first-aid information, especially with regard to heat exhaustion, sunstrokes and the like.
