Dr. Khoja: MOH Works on Providing the Best Health Care to Pilgrims

Executive Office General Manager for GCC Ministers of Health Council, Dr. Tawfeeq Bin Ahmad Khoja, praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for hosting and organizing the global conference that is about the influence of human gatherings on public health, which will be held on 23-25 October 2010 in Jeddah, sponsored by The Custodian of the Tow Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, with the participation of the World Health Organization General Director, Margaret Chan and Ministers of Health of the United States and some Arab, European and Gulf Council countries, in addition to a number of international and regional related organizations.
Dr. Tawfeeq pointed out that the aim of holding such conference is to demonstrate the kingdom's unique experience in Hajj season specially that it includes more than tow million people in a specific time and place, which makes the kingdom a role model for others.
he also added that the government is dedicated to serve the pilgrims in all needed fields, including medical services provided by the Ministry of Health which has increased in terms of quality and quantity in a modern preventative and curative system and a highly qualified medical and technical workforce under the supervision of the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al Rabeeah.
All of The Ministry's divisions and equipments are allocated to provide health care to the pilgrims in spite of the difficult conditions due to the enormous numbers of pilgrims.
Dr.Tawfeeq stressed on that the importance of this conference resembles in human gatherings' management, and development training, and human resources rehabilitation in addition to getting the nongovernmental organizations participate in financing, and building the infrastructure, keeping and protecting the environmental resources ,using renewable energy resources in a rapid urbanization world and supporting healthy cities.
He also clarified that this conference gives the chance to Gulf Cooperation Council countries to present its expertise, and experiences in this field, where they differ in term of the amounts of expats wither they are domestic helpers or others. In addition to the following procedures that have been done accordingly with the human gatherings' adds.
As a conclusion to his statement, the General Director praised The Custodian of the Tow Holy Mosques efforts to sponsor this conference which presents the objective vision of our government in having such global conferences. These conferences are considered a great opportunity to benefit from universal and specialized experiences from global organizations, and to exchange their expertise. This will lead to develop health programs in such a vital field. He also praised the Ministry's efforts specially Dr. Abdullah's in preparing and arranging this conference, hoping that it's outcomes will lead to more development in the medical field.
