MOH convenes pharmaceutical care symposium in Tabuk

The MOH General Directorate of Pharmaceutical Care, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Health Affairs in Tabuk Province, represented by the MOH General Administration of Pharmaceutical Care, shall organize the First Pharmaceutical Care Symposium in Tabuk, under the sponsorship of the Assistant Deputy Minister for Therapeutic Medicine. The symposium shall be held under the title: Pharmaceutical Care: Notion and Implementation on April 7-8, 2009.
 
Approved by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, the symposium includes 11 pharmaceutical learning hours and is accompanied by a pharmaceutical exhibition in which a number of sponsoring pharmaceutical companies will show their latest products.
 
According the MOH Pharmaceutical Care Manager Dr. Battal bin Saif Al-Battal, the symposium aims to upgrade the level of pharmaceutical care provision at the pharmacies of MOH hospitals and health centers. It also aims to improve the performance of health care personnel in implementing and effectuating modern pharmaceutical standards.
 
He said the symposium covers a number of topics, including pharmaceutical care applications and quality assurance, pharmaceutical economics, computerizing pharmaceutical care, prevention of medication errors, patience safety, and the new trends in exercising the pharmaceutical profession in hospitals and primary health care centers.
 
"The symposium represents an opportunity for exchange of experience and knowledge of the latest developments in pharmaceutical applications", he said.
 
Dr. Al-Battal urged all branches of the Pharmaceutical Care Administration to participate effectively in the Sixth Periodical Meeting of Pharmaceutical Care Managers in the different provinces, which will be held at the sidelines of the symposium.
