Al-Sharif hails the efforts of the GCC Council of Health Ministers

The Secretary General of the Cooperative Health Insurance Council Dr. Abdullah Al-Sharif said convening the 64th conference of the GCC Council of Health Ministers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the banner of (Heart First), is an indication of the concern paid by the Saudi government to health care in the Kingdom and the GCC countries.
Describing the GCC Council of Health Ministers as a unique example of cooperation and coordination between sister countries, Dr. Al-Sharif said the Council has been established in 1396 and since then has carried out its mission in coordinating joint GCC work in the health field.
 
He said the Council has carried out 77 successful health projects, including provision of medical care to patients of chronic diseases (such as cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, and diabetes), proof based health care, ethics of health profession, improving and measuring performance of health systems, improving quality of health services, expanding unified procurement, post marketing follow up of drugs, side effects of drugs, drug mistakes, improving nursing services, health studies and researches, in addition to programs on vocational safety, adolescence and youth health, and mouth and teeth health. 
 
Finally Dr. Al-Sharif wished success to the conference in its aims of upgrading both protective and therapeutic health services for the benefit of the people of the GCC countries.
