The MOH Deputy Minister for Planning and Development Dr. Obeid Al-Obeid has ordered formation of an informational committee for the Primary Health Care Project under the chairmanship of the Director General for Health Information and Relations Dr. Khalid M. Al-Marghalni and membership of a number of MOH director generals.
The committee shall undertake the task of setting the informational policies for promoting the concept of family medicine and establishing a positive image about the role of primary health care centers.
The current attitude within the Ministry of Health is to replace primary health centers by family and community medicine for ensuring better and comprehensive health services, joining prevention with therapeutics, and approaching high risk communities such as children under five, expectant mothers, and those of special needs.
