Dr. Khoja to participate in the 32nd meetings of the Council

The Executive Board of the Health Ministers' Council for the GCC States, represented by its Director General Dr. Tawfeeq Ahmed Khoja, shall participate in the 32nd meetings of the Council of Arab Health Ministers, which will be held in Sharm Al-Shaikh, Egypt on 27 & 28/02/1429, being 5 & 6/03/2008.
 
According to Dr. Khoja, the meeting will address a number of issues including the meeting of the Executive Board of the Arab Health Ministers, which is chaired currently by the Saudi Minister of Health Dr. Hamad bin Abdullah Al-Mane. The opening session of the meetings will include the speeches of the Algerian Health Minister, the Egyptian Health Minister, the Saudi Health Minister, the Director General of the Executive Board of the Health Ministers' Council for the GCC States, and the Arab League Secretary General Mr. Amr Musa.
 
Dr. Khoja said the conference will review the achievements and follow up reports, including the report of the President of the Executive Board, the report of the 18th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Arabic Health Development Fund, and a number technical issues including the Arabic Project for Improving the Quality of Health Facilities, establishment of the Arabic Commission for Accrediting, the Arabic Council of Nursing and Midwifery, the Arabic Council of Nursing Specialties, the Arabic Commission of Blood Transfusion Services, management of health planning, medicines in the Arab world, and upgrading the Council of the Arab Health Ministers.
 
The conference will also discuss the issue of unifying Arabic efforts in related fields, with special concern to the unified speech of the Arabic Health Ministers in front of the General Assembly of the World Health Organization, which will be held in Geneva, Switzerland. Other issues on the agenda include the document of the joint GCC Health Ministers declaration on diabetes, the award of the best Arabic health project, and preparing for the Arabic Economic, Developmental, and Social Summit.
 
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Khoja holds now the position of the President of the Founding Committee for establishing the Arabic Commission for Accrediting and the Committee set for upgrading the Arab Council of Health Ministers.
