SR3 billion allotted for new health projects, Al-Mane

The MOH budget for the current year includes a number of new projects in the different parts of the Kingdom, said the Minister of Health Dr. Hamad bin Abdullah Al-Mane. He said a total of SR25,8 billion has been allotted for MOH this year, with an increasing percentage of 11% compared to last year's budget.
 
The total cost of the new projects has been SR3 billion according to Al-Mane, including computerization of 50 hospitals and 300 health centers, establishment of two specialized centers within Abha General Hospital and King Fahad Hospital in Jazan, establishment of a medical tower for tumours within King Fahad Specialist Hospital in Dammam, establishment of three new hospitals in Tabuk, establishment of Al-Jamum Hospital, establishment of a hospital in western Riyadh, and establishment of a medical tower within Al-Amal Psychological Health Hospital in Al-Taif.
 
The MOH Director General for Hospitals and Maintenance Eng Mohammed Al-Qahtani said MOH has started works on accommodation projects for nursing staffs with an overall cost of SR370 million. In addition, furnishing and developmental projects are carried out for a number of hospitals in the different parts of the Kingdom.
 
"The Minister of Health has directed that contacts be made with the Directorate of Projects and Maintenance for obtaining approvals pertaining to the studies and designs of health facilities", he said.
