Al-Mane visits Riyadh Medical Complex
14 January 2008
The Minister of Health Dr. Hamad Al-Mane paid a visit yesterday to Riyadh Medical Complex (RMC), including the Internal Medicine Tower and the other tower allotted for delivery and obstetrics. He has been briefed on executed parts and required needs.

He said RMC has been reduced from 42 random buildings to 6 towers surrounded by gardens, parks, and green landscapes, a progress of no precedent throughout the past 52 minutes. "RMC is planning to utilize a number of sites along major roads, as well as some other special sites within the towers, in investment projects for yielding earnings required for meeting RMC future projects", he said.

He revealed that the ICU capacity has been elevated from 41 to141 beds, thus enabling RMC to receive all cases transferred from other hospitals and eliminate waiting lists.

He said RMC has for the first time established bedrooms, offices, and rest rooms for physicians, an example which will be applied in all future hospitals.

"All medical, technical and administrative staff enjoy MOH support", he said. "We are now intending to establish nurseries for children of MOH personnel in the various provinces, provided that the test projects in Riyadh hospitals yield success".
