The Minister of Health Dr. Hamad bin Abdullah Al-Mane issued today a decree for establishing a new general directorate under the title (The General Directorate for Combating Infections in Hospitals), to be linked directly to the MOH Assistant Undersecretary for Therapeutic Medicine. Dr. Sahar bint Mohammed Hussain Mekki has been appointed to undertake the responsibilities of the General Director for Combating Infections and exercise all relative authorities for one year as of the date of issuance of the decree.
The decree has been issued on the basis of the proposal of the special committee formed for reviewing the organizational charts of the Ministry of Health, the provinces, and the hospitals. It has also been based on the proposals for improving the services of infection combating, which is delivered by the General Directorate of Systems and Methods to all MOH health facilities.
On her part, Dr. Mekki expressed her gratitude to His Highness the Minister of Health for the valued trust bestowed on her, confirming she will work hard for attaining required purposes.
