MOH corrects the status of 83 technicians
15 May 2007
The Employees Affairs General Manager Abdullah A. Al-Mitairi issued a decree whereby the status of 83 university degree holding employees in a number of specialties has been corrected in accordance with the minutes prepared by the committee formed by the Ministry of Health.

He said those employees have been appointed as technicians in a number of fields including microbiology, pharmacy, physical treatment, biochemistry and natural sciences, whereas they deserve the status of specialist in respective fields. Therefore, and due to availability of vacant posts, their status has been changed from technicians to specialists.

Having been moved to the new status, those employees must resume their duties within 15 days starting from the date of the decree, said Al-Mitairi.

He said no employee shall have the right to demand shifting from the position to which he has been appointed unless at least one year has passed from the date of the decree. Each Health Affairs Directorate must submit to the MOH Information Center a copy of the decree as well as a copy of the letter of work resume date within a maximum period of 3 days as of the date of work starting.

He confirmed MOH is keen to correct the status of all who are appointed on technical positions to the status of specialist, but he said some employees prefer their technical positions as the new positions require their transfer to areas which are far from their families.
