Health projects in Al-Madeenah Discussed

The Minister of Health Dr. Hamad Al-Mane discussed in the weekly meeting of the MOH Undersecretaries the progress achieved at the health projects in Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah.
 
The official speaker of the Ministry of Health Dr. Khalid Al-Marghalani said a number of developmental projects are under way in Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah province, including 13 hospitals, a heart center at King Fahd Hospital, a psychological health center, and a hospital in Yanbu. Work in all these hospitals is carried out in accordance with the plans set by the Ministry of Health.
 
He said the Medical City in Al-Madinah is a strategic priority within the plans of the Ministry of Health. It includes a gynecologic  hospital, a specialized hospital, a psychological hospital, and a faculty of health sciences for girls.
 
According to Al-Marghalani, 27 health facilities are undergoing improvements, including king Fahd Hospital, Ohod Hosptial, Al-Ansar Hospital, Al-Miqat Hospital, as well as the health centers, MOH colleges, and medical warehouses, all of which shall be handovered to the Ministry of Health during the forthcoming period. The first stage of works includes establishing 10 health centers, namely Al-Barakah, Al-Rayah, Al-Bayda, Al-Yatma, Ohod, Qurban, Abu Kabir, Al-Qiblatayn, Sayed Al-Shuhada, and Al-Sakhirat health centers, with a total cost of SR238 million.  
 
"The total capacity of Al-Madinah Province health facilities till 1424H has been 1992 beds", says Al-Margalani. "But during the period from 1424H to 1428H they have been supported by 1730 beds, the total capacity thus reaching 3722 beds, an achievement which would not have come into existent without the strong support of our respected leadership".
